Irish Coffeehouse Sessions is a simple idea with a big heart. For one week around St Patrick’s Day, cafés across Ireland are invited to play and promote Irish contemporary music.

The project began as a way to bring more Irish artists into everyday spaces — the places where people gather, chat, work, pause, listen and, connect.

For 2027, the ambition is to grow the idea into a national café trail, with participating cafés playing curated Irish music playlists throughout the week, and selected venues hosting intimate live performances from Irish artists.

This is not about nostalgia or clichés. It is about the artists making music now, and helping their voices be heard
